Message for participants of Rimini Conference

Dear SWESD2020 Delegates,

Once again, we cordially regret the inconvenience the SWESD2020 postponement might have caused.

A force majeure event has occurred and the release of the ordinance COVID-19 by Italian Government and Ministry of Health has forced us to make this final decision, taken in order to protect the vulnerable part of our society and to reduce any risk that might be caused by travel and attendance to such an international meeting. As anticipated in the last official communication the SWESD2020 Conference, will be held in Rimini, Italy , from November 8 to 11, 2020.

The registrations purchased until now will be automatically considered valid for the new date, as well as the invoices issued.

If you have already registered for the Conference, you are not requested to complete the registration process again.

Looking forward to welcoming you in Rimini!

Message for participants of Rimini Conference

Dear Ladies and Gentilemen, colleagues & friends

The organizers of the SWESD2020 have carefully observed the situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy and in Europe. We were constantly evaluating press releases and other official information from relevant authorities like WHO, Italian Ministry of Health, etc., which we are in contact with.

Currently our two major aims as organizers of the Conference are protecting our delegates & speakers from becoming infected by COVID-19 during traveling for meeting at the SWESD, and also significantly contributing to the prevention of any further spread of the virus; this can only be achieved by suspending the current event schedule. Having studied all alternatives, we mutually decided to postpone the Conference to the following date:

November 8th to 11th, 2020

This action is a postponement and not a cancellation of the event. We cordially regret the inconvenience this postponement might cause for you. However, this decision has been taken in order to protect the vulnerable part of our society and to reduce any risk that might be caused by travel and attendance to such an international meeting.

We wish you all the best & health for the near future and hope to see you soon

Message for participants of Rimini Conference

Dear Friends,

We have posted an update on Rimini Conference on March 1, 2020. As you all are following global news now, situation has changed. Now all Italy has been "protected" the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte informed that "Italy extended the quarantine measures nationwide"

The Italian PM Giuseppe Conte announced on Monday that special measures will be imposed across the whole country including travel restrictions and a ban on gatherings in a bid to stem the spread of coronavirus.

He stated that “It is not the first time that our country has faced national emergencies. But we are a strong country that does not give up: it is in our DNA. We are facing the Coronavirus challenge. A challenge that has no political color, which must bring together the entire nation. It is a challenge that must be overcome with the commitment of all: citizens and institutions, scientists, doctors, health workers, civil protection, law enforcement. Italy, all of it, is called to do its part”.

On behalf of IASSW, ICSW, Italian partners and Local Organizers we would like to request again, please be calm and have faith. We are very much optimistic. We will be updating on near future steps to be taken in regard on Rimini Conference.

We had already extended the Early Bird Deadline to May 4th! We will keep on posting updates as and when it comes to us.

In Solidarity,

IASSW & ICSW Organizing Committee of SWESD
